The Future of Earmark Transparency
On Monday, November 15, the Advisory Committee on Transparency hosted a briefing entitled, “The Future of Earmark Transparency.” Panelists included Steve Ellis of Taxpayers for Common Sense and Jim Harper of the Cato Institute and WashingtonWatch.com. On Tuesday, June 22, the Advisory Committee on Transparency hosted a briefing entitled “Transparency Made Easy: How to Make the Government More Open and Accountable.†Panelists Scott Amey of POGO, Harlan Yu of the Center for Information Technology at Princeton, and Bill Allison of the Sunlight Foundation spoke on contractor performance oversight, access to federal court records, and online access to congressional ethics information.
