The Advisory Committee on Transparency hosted its first event of 2022 on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, titled Sunshine Week 2022. The event featured live remarks from Representative Quigley, founder of the Congressional Transparency Caucus, and recorded remarks from Representative Kilmer, Chair of the House Select Committee on Modernization.

The distinguished panel included:

-Shanna Devine, Director of the House Office of the Whistleblower Ombuds.

-Kate Oh, Attorney and Senior Policy Counsel at the American Civil Liberties Union.

-Danielle Brian, Executive Director of the Project On Government Oversight.

-Nick Hart, President of the Data Foundation.

The forum was hosted by Alex Howard, co-director of the Advisory Committee on Transparency. Taylor J. Swift, Policy Advisor at Demand Progress, and Ginger Quintero-McCall, Legal Director at Demand Progress also gave remarks.

These experts discussed the status of sunshine laws, the importance of whistleblower protection, the impact of the pandemic on public access and transparency, and so much more.
